The new FAI Haute Voltige Grand Prix Series started 01 January 2004 and will finish 31 December 2005.
Open to Propeller and Jet aircraft, to Solo pilots and to Formation Teams, to civilian and military competitors, it will deliver a World Champion title sanctioned by FAI (Federation Aéronautique Internationale), the international organisation in charge of all air sports world wide.
Pilots Selection
Civilian pilots are either proposed by aircraft manufacturers (test pilots), or selected among the top pilots competing in the Freestyle World Aerobatic Championship ruled by the International Commission for Aerobatics (CIVA) of the FAI.
Pre selections for pilots who are not test pilots from manufacturers should be made in each CIVA country through a CHALLENGE ROUND to be open to traditional aerobatic competitors as well as airshow pilots. The final list of Challengers will then compete with the Haute Voltige Defenders for the title of Freestyle World Aerobatic Champion (in 2005) as well as for a seat in the Haute Voltige Team of Defenders for the following Series 2006-2007.
Military pilots are selected by their own Air Force.

Jet Category
As far as jet aircraft are concerned, 4 teams had applied for participating in the Grand Prix, the 2xMig29 from the SWIFTS formation team, 2xSU27 from the USSIAN KNIGHTS formation team, 7xL39 from the RUSS formation team and the SAUDI HAWKS (National Aerobatic Jet Team of Saudi Arabia). The Russian pilots and aircraft did not arrive, therefore they are considered as "no show" and only the SAUDI HAWKS will be judged. It would have been a great contest, considering the surprisingly (because they had never displayed abroad) brilliant demonstration of the Saudi Team which finished with 5'450 points (without music).
Please find below the results of the Freestyle to music competition that took place on 05 February. Unfortunately the Flying Bulls got a zero for crossing the deadline. The scores of yesterday will be added to the scores of today to compose the final score and determine the winners of the 20th FAI World Grand prix. Stay tuned!
